Andreas Knaup is the third generation to run the nursery and now coordinates 40 employees on 10 hectares. Lavender, Amarylissen, various bedding and balcony plants and a wide range of autumn plants grow here under ideal conditions. Sustainable production methods are important to Andreas Knaup. Thus, the nursery gets 80% of its energy requirements from renewable energy.
At the new site, HAWE realised a fully automated mobile container system integrating a manual sorting and delivery zone. Approximately 3600 mobile containers have been installed with ebb & flow bottoms. The system is controlled by SDF Horti Software.
